Day 875: Yawn!

Up til past 1 a.m. again last night, this time D&D — woke up around 4:45 as my wife was going to work, so that’s… less than four hours sleep? I’ve dozed a bit more, but my dreams went weird, so I’m up to do this, then probably a few chores, and then strategic napping through the day.

On-track is gonna be tough today, but important!

Day 784: D&D is BRUTAL

I mean, it’s fun, but staying up til 1 a.m. is a brutal piece of work. Just got up, had coffee and a tangerine, and it is going to be a challenge to get my day on track. I didn’t do the checklist last night, either… it’s so associated with going to bed that I kind of thought it would make me too tired to play if I did it before, and I was certainly too tired to do it afterwards.

Now don’t be wrong-gettin’ me*, I’m committed to it! It’s just taking a different strategies to handle UP SO LATE when I’m so used to being an early-to-bed guy. In a way, I think this is healthy… flexing a “stay up late” muscle that I can use for concerts, etc.

*I’ve been listening to bluegrass this morning

Day 773: Jerkpod AFTER DARK

A kind of atypical morning this morning, with snow shovelling replacing regular exercise, which threw off my whole rhythm to the point that I didn’t do a podcast!

Just as well, really — I’m glad to be recording this in the evening, because I just got back from two hours of volunteer training, one-on-one with some really cool and talented people that I’m happy to know. The volunteer stuff sometimes becomes a pain; it’s nice to get back to what I really value about it, which is connecting to and helping people.

It’s also nice to pay it forward skills-and-brainwise.
