Day 173: Sleepy

I don’t know if it’s exertion from making a kitchen island in two days, or just general Stuff Catching Up With Me, but man, am I sleepy.

Oh, and here’s the kitchen island; still needs some trim:

kitchen island
They say that no man is an island, but this man made an island. Ugh. Sorry.

So I’m quite proud of banging that together in short order. But again: sleepy. I slept in this morning, and I’m still a bit groggy.

Last day of the Short Staycation, and this time we’ve booked a car for today and the whole weekend. I’m driving us out to Prince Edward County, largely so my wife can do some interviews for her podcast and a column she writes for the local online blog thing. It’s a bit ironic, given that I don’t drink, but it’s her passion.

So sleeping in was probably a good move, given that I don’t want to be nodding off while driving. And I’m a ‘sleepy driver’ at the best of times. I get tired when I drive. I don’t know why. It’s always been that way.

Sleepy isn’t bad, but it is a bit surprising.

I’m surprised that I’m this sleepy, given that it’s been a pretty restful few days. I’ve been getting some practical stuff done, for sure, but I’ve also been taking it pretty easy on the exercise, and haven’t been tightly monitoring food. Not getting stupid, but not tracking as hard, either.

So I’m a bit surprised that I’m getting hit this hard with the tiredness. Still and all, maybe it’s a good sign. Working some stress out and getting some Zs in.
